TESCO has been accused of religious discrimination - after banning a JEDI KNIGHT for wearing a hood.

Members of the Star Wars faith - a religion practised around the world - choose to cover their heads in public.

But the leader of the UK's first Jedi Church was branded a security risk and ejected by three staff after refusing to remove his hoodie at a Tesco in Bangor, North Wales.

Daniel Jones, 23 - also known by his Jedi name Morda Hehol - said: "I told them it was a requirement of my religion but they just sniggered and ordered me to leave.

"I walked past a Muslim lady in a veil. Surely the same rules should apply to everyone." The handbook of the UK Jedi Church, founded by film nut Daniel last year, states: "Jedis must wear a hood up in any public place of a large audience."

Daniel added: "I'll advise worshippers to boycott Tesco if it happens again. They will feel the Force."

A Tesco spokesman said: "We would ask Jedis to remove hoods. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Luke Skywalker all went hoodless without going to the Dark Side."

So I'd been playing the trial game of Plants vs. Zombies for the last few months, usually only for a couple of minutes at a time (in order to make the fun last). Yesterday, I took the plunge and bought the full version, and now I can't seem to stop playing. It's so hilariously awesome.
It's available on PopCap if you want to give it a try. If you're anything like me (or my sister Rachel) you'll be hooked and end up paying the $19.95 for the whole thing. It's well worth the investment.

Yea. wtf that finale was insane. Not the best episode of the season, but pretty damn good. I thought the last shot was daring, but there was so much adorable Peter/Walter love.

I can't even explain how much I learned from watching The Jeff Corwin Experience. I will put him against any other Animal Planet export... and that includes Eugene Cussons. I already knew chimps were cute, Jeff taught me not to be scared of snakes. (and Cesar Milan is on NGC, he doesn't count.)

He's adorable. Just look at him.
And yes, he was part of Planet in Peril on CNN with Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He's just that awesome.

ok i haven't had a ranty tv post in a while... I just need to share the joy I get from watching Fringe.

For those unfamiliar with the plot, it's about an FBI agent who teams up with a father and son team working to solve and understand weird cases. Walter Bishop (John Noble) is a genius who worked at Harvard in fringe science (teleportation, necromancy, mutations, etc), following an accident in his lab he was sent to a mental institution for some 15 years or so. His equally genius son, Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) has been running around in the world doing mysterious things since his father went away, he harbors a deep resentment towards Walter but spends most of the show trying to protect him. Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) is an Federal Agent who has been recruited to work in a new department devoted to understanding the recent rise in strange and dangerous events known as "The Pattern."

It's like the X-files and Law & Order had a snarky, scifi baby. Josh Jackson is adorable, Anna Torv is badass, and John Noble is so amazingly weird. Not to mention Kirk Acevedo and Lance Reddick (and i'm not just gushing about them b/c they were on OZ)... Acevedo's character is so sarcastic and irritated all the time. i LOVE it.

Jackson and Noble's father/son interactions are hilarious and totally realistic. They aren't pushing the sexual tension, they don't apologize for the gross and disturbing scenes that open each week, and half of the jokes are completely nerdy... and JJ Abrams love aside, the over-arcing conspiracy plot is pretty compelling. gah.

if you've ever enjoyed an episode of the x-files, think joshua jackson is at all attractive, believe in corporate conspiracy theories, or are remotely sarcastic you will like this show. everyone needs to start watching it on Tuesdays at 9 on Fox. New episodes are starting April 7th so take this time to catch up.

Cult comedy Red Dwarf is returning to TV, 21 years after its initial launch.

The show has been resurrected by digital channel Dave for a two-part Easter weekend special, which sees the cast finally return to Earth.
Written and directed by Red Dwarf co-creator Doug Naylor, the new show reunites the line-up, including Coronation Street's Craig Charles.
The hit show, which ran for eight series on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999, won an International Emmy award.

'No holds barred'
Set three million years into the future, the show followed the exploits of Dave Lister, slovenly crew member of the mining ship Red Dwarf - and the last man in the universe.

I was woken up by helicopters and sirens this morning, the increased police presence sort of freaked me out. I'm glad it's there but I'm going to avoid public transit today. The fact that the choppers were close enough to wake me up was pretty insane. Who's going to attack brooklyn?
I'm watching the inaugurating with Mei's sister Chau, my mother tried to convince me to go to Times Square... I avoid that place on normal days, you couldn't pay me to go there today. Even though I'd be able to get some amazing pictures.

I'm so overwhelmed by this. There are over a million people at the mall. Obama's is being sworn in with a 78% approval rating. It's completely unprecedented. I'm so proud.
